Maternity Session Details

Capture this special period when your body is nurturing new life with stunning and unforgettable photographs. After all, pregnancy is a fleeting moment, deserving of everlasting memories. Allow us to assist you in creating timeless mementos of this beautiful journey.

When to schedule your Maternity session:

Maternity sessions are best between 28-35 weeks of pregnancy, this way your bump is at a good size to show in photos, but not too big to make it uncomfortable for you to move around. The session can be done sooner or later in the pregnancy, that is all completely up to you and how you feel.

Session Location:

Maternity sessions are held in our studio, where we have several set ups that change throughout the year, as well as other simple set ups that can be arranged for your own session, or we can create a unique set up for your session upon request, this will all be discussed during the phone pre-consultation.

Before the Session:

Wardrobe is key in creating these lasting memories and we have an ample selection of gowns and garments that you have full access to, per our full service experience. It is custom to have you select your gowns at our pre-consult to ensure the style and fit are what you have in mind. Our selection is pretty extensive, but in the case you would like to bring your own clothing, we typically recommend form fitting gowns that accent your bump and really show it off. Maxi dresses are very popular as well as jeans and tight blouses, but make sure and follow your own style, you are going to want to print and hang these photos in your home and you want them to fit you and your personality! We do suggest you bring sandals/flip-flops with you to walk from spot to spot, these locations are not built to walk around in heels and we don't want to risk you falling and hurting yourself.

What to expect during your maternity session:

We will meet at the studio where everything you requested will already be ready to go for your shoot. Upon your arrival, we will begin shooting the session, we will have the allotted time as per the session you booked, so please be sure to arrive on time, as appointments are generally back to back, so arriving after your scheduled time will result in less time for your shoot and a late fee. This day is all about you, sure you might have hubby and other children with you, but this session is about you. Most poses will be started with you alone and then I will add other family members to the shots, however, they will not be on all of the photos. The session goes by pretty quickly, I typically already have my routine planned out and try to stick to it to make sure and take advantage of our time, but if you need to take a break, please say so and we will stop for a bit and give you time.

Newborn Session Details

The arrival of your new Baby is such a special time for you and your family. The addition of a new, sweet baby that changes life completely! I want to help you savor those memories of your sweet, little one and create images of this special moment in your life to cherish forever.

When to Schedule your Newborn Session:

Newborn Photos are best when taken in the first two weeks after your baby’s birth. During this time, your baby has a deeper sleep and is very flexible for all those cute poses and his or her complexion is clear. You should call during your second or third trimester of pregnancy to reserve your your session. When you call to schedule your appointment, your due date will be added to my calendar and a date reserved for a time within those two weeks of your baby's life. Notify me as soon as possible when your baby is born to set a firm date. In some cases, sessions can be completed at more days old, but these just depend on the baby and how they react to the session. This is why to ensure we get those newborn shots, that you schedule as soon as possible.

Session Location:

Newborn sessions are done at my studio which keeps the babies and families cozy as I have all the equipment, props and anything needed at hand reach. We provide refreshments for parents while the session is taken place and have ample sitting from where you can watch.

Before the Session:

Wear comfortable clothes, if you’re goin to partake in your baby’s session, please bring your outfits in neutral tones and you may change into them when we come to that time in the session. The studio is kept quite warm during the baby’s session to ensure baby’s comfort, so we want you to be comfortable as well. I have been working with babies for a very long time and know that they will cry, pee and poop, get hungry, etc. so I am very familiar with the stress, fatigue, and emotions those first days may bring. Take the time of the session to unwind and check on all those social media messages that I am sure have piled up, bring a book or magazine or just take a nap. We are good with any of that!

What to Expect at Your Baby’s Session:

I recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes early. When you arrive I will have everything already set up, so if you have any props or things you want me to use specifically, please be sure and let me know that ahead of time through our session questionnaire, no props/blankets will be changed once you are at the studio already, this would take time away from the session and we want to avoid that. Newborn sessions can include any combination of the following: newborn only, siblings and baby, parents and baby, family and baby (This includes mom, dad and siblings.) Other family members can be included at an additional cost. Remember that the baby calls the shots! Babies are little individuals with their own likes, dislikes and personality. If baby wants to eat, we’ll take a break. If baby needs to be changed or just needs a little break, we'll give it to him, I will do my best to work with you and your baby to have a successful session.

Have any further questions for me? Shot them my way. I want to be sure you are as informed as you need to feel at ease with your session.
